Walk-Out or Walk-in

This may be more of a controversial topic but this is something I would like to talk about. As many know, today, March 14th was the national walkout day for students in high school. Being inspired by the Parkland high school students in Florida who walked all the way to their congress and protested against gun violence. However is a walkout really the answer for this? Yes there are problems that need to be fixed but is a bunch of students walking out going to solve the problem? Honestly we need more Jesus and walk-ups. We need more students to be courageous and walk up to the outsiders, the losers, the picked on kids and spread a light. Be that person’s “light at the end of tunnel.” You never know what somebody is going through. The Parkland shooting isn’t just a gun issue it’s more than that. It’s a discipline issue. Your seeing kids now a days where they rule their parents and not the the other way. It’s a school safety issue. It’s a law-enforcement failure issue. It’s a mental health issue. Clearly Nikolas Cruz needed help. This shooting is being masked as a gun issue but in reality it’s not. Certainly we do need gun reforms but we also need a society reform. We need to go back to actually and truly caring about people not looking at each other for 5 seconds and going on our phones. Our kids heads are buried in their phones they don’t even know to interact with each other. We need more disciplined kids being taught the right values and morals. Our society needs more. We can not fail this generation. Something needs to change and it’s not just gun laws. Let’s be the change the world needs to see. Let’s stop blaming each other and attacking each other because in reality that will not get anything done. We need to talk not yell at each other. We need to stop using traumatized kids for political agendas. So back to my point is a walk out really an answer for this? To be honest I don’t believe so. Yes it opens up the conservation but it doesn't solve the problems. Going out for 17 minutes opens talk but it does nothing. We need true action. Not walking out of school. Walk out of school and go to your local senators and congress members but standing outside of your school will do nothing! But what will do something? Well walk up. As I said before walk up and be that light that somebody may need. You never know how far simple words such as “hey how are you” or “hey what’s up” can go. Let’s stop excluding and start including. But most importantly let’s stop blaming something that is only part of an issue and not the whole issue and let’s be the change we want to see. **I know this was a sensitive topic but feel free to leave comments below and lmk what you think. What are your thoughts and opinions on this particular issue***
